Most of our kit is specifically designed to work in tough environments and some demo’s put that to the test! Despite the rain, wind and mud, we had a great day showing our SCYTALE voice and data solution, along with the ultra-portable Satcube AB satcom terminal. We had a lot of interest in our SCYTALE Maritime, working live on Thuraya Telecom and the GRC ROIP Mission Module, capable of transmitting encrypted radio beyond line of sight.
Slightly cold and a little damp under foot… GRC were delighted to be included in a Royal Marine demonstration of innovative technology within an exercise on Dartmoor. Demonstrating the compact Tampa Microwave Manpack Terminal and Swarm45, alongside GRC’s own SCYTALE Maritime, a carry-on communications hub featuring bonded 3G/4G GSM and satellite capabilities, providing VOIP phones, Wi-FI for data and streaming video and more in a simple all-in-one package!
In response to customer feedback, GRC’s SCYTALE Maritime now supports connection via 3G/4G networks in addition to satellite! This upgrade allows vessels within range of port or coastal services to use cost-effective bonded GSM networks for their data, or bond with a sat com connection for super-fast network access! As a carry-on comms hub, the Maritime requires no permanent fixtures and creates a high-speed, self-healing, self-optimising, Wi-Fi, broadband voice and data network within minutes of deployment!
Scytale Maritime completes testing! Requiring no permanent installation it operates on InmarsatGlobal ThurayaTelecom or IridiumComm
